The picturesque Dharamsala Cricket Stadium, nestled in the stunning Himalayan backdrop, is all set to play host to the upcoming ODI World Cup matches, according to Arun Dhumal, IPL chairman and former Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association chief. The International Cricket Council (ICC) team conducted a routine visit to the venue on Wednesday, assessing its preparedness and facilities.
Arun Dhumal spoke enthusiastically about the recent inspection, highlighting the positive response from the ICC team. “The ICC and BCCI team visited our venue this afternoon and thoroughly inspected our facilities as part of their routine visit. We are delighted to share that they were highly impressed with the new outfield and pitches. Their observations will be included in a detailed report,” said Dhumal.
Over the past year, the Dharamsala Cricket Stadium has undergone significant upgrades to ensure it meets the highest international standards. The entire outfield has been revamped, and considerable work has been done on the square as well. Former and current cricketers lauded the venue during the IPL fixtures it hosted earlier this year.
“We have devoted substantial time and effort to ensure the outfield remains world-class, even during extreme weather conditions. The quality of the outfield, grass, and pitches has garnered praise from players and experts alike. During the IPL, former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden was astounded by the outfield’s quality and even inquired whether it was artificial grass,” revealed Dhumal.
The Dharamsala Cricket Stadium is scheduled to host five World Cup fixtures, including the high-profile clash between India and New Zealand on October 22. Cricket enthusiasts worldwide are eagerly looking forward to witnessing thrilling matches at this picturesque venue.
With the ICC’s positive evaluation and the stadium’s improved infrastructure, cricket fans can rest assured that the upcoming World Cup matches in Dharamsala will be an exceptional sporting spectacle. The world-class facilities and breathtaking scenery are set to create an unforgettable experience for players and spectators alike.
As the excitement builds up for the upcoming ODI World Cup, cricket enthusiasts are urged to mark their calendars for the Dharamsala matches, promising unforgettable moments on and off the field.
